Helpers are welcome!
Experiencing the OBOA as a guest is already a special experience. But being a helper at an OBOA is even more special!
We are at the festival site for 10 days. Six days setting up, two days OBOA, two days dismantling. During this time, we do everything together: hauling, crafting, cooking, eating and celebrating. Every year we grow together anew and experience a sense of community that doesn’t exist out there in everyday life. You will also learn a lot about the origins of the OBOA and get to know founding members who have been with us since the first OBOA.
1st set-up helper:
You will arrive between Saturday 2 August and Monday 4 August and help to set up OBOA.
This means: hauling, tinkering, working, cleaning, decorating. In the evening we celebrate together and see how this year’s ‘Spnnen-Kind’ slowly grows and becomes an OBOA with all its floors.
2nd OBOA helper
You arrive on Thursday 7th August at the latest and MUST be present at the ‘helper welcome’ on Thursday evening. Here we explain and distribute all the activities that make our weekend possible in the first place.
This includes, for example: admission and car park supervision, tapping and selling drinks, cutting and washing up, serving food in catering, helping with the sanitary facilities backstage or on the floors and much much more.
Basically we plan you with 8h/12h helping time (spread over both action days). We will try to take your wishes into account, but cannot give any guarantees. In the remaining time you can enjoy the helper status with all its amenities or simply do what you want, listen to the bands, party or do something with friends.
3. dismantling helper:
You will stay with us on the site from Sunday 10 August to Monday 11 August. This is actually the most important task. Because when the guests have left on Sunday, the scaffolding is still there, the bones are tired, but the spirit is happy. Dismantling involves hauling, cleaning, packing and carrying.
As a lure, it is also worth mentioning that the very best parties are celebrated on Sunday evening during dismantling and the barrels from the beer trolley, which are still full, have to be emptied.
Everyone is happy and proud to have managed the OBOA and together they push themselves to the limit when it comes to dismantling.
