8. August 2024Killing Lizards

8. August 2024Jack Noise Syndrom & Incertezza Inc.
dressed in cold pieces of time / haunted by battles lost / we seek a vision
a vision to cut / through the genius of the crowd / like acid steel through a vein
the last night that we lived / we had no more eyes / trapped in lands we never saw
what stands between us /just that precious gift some call experience
turmoil /uprising / bitter loss / our blood thin like air /water only
pink noise is carrying last hopes/ ready to follow the code [...]

31. July 2024Hutmacher
The opener on Friday. The hardest job at a festival like this. All the more reason for us to respect this young artist and his band. Yes, you read that right, the Hatter has been travelling with a band for a few months now. The purely electronic nature of his studio recordings has been congenially transferred to the organic body of sound of a combo made up of people of flesh and blood. More pressure, more noise, more bad humour from the stage for us good-humoured hippies standing in front of it. [...]

31. July 2024Panika
Fast, faster, Panika. After Friedemann’s cancellation and our call, they crossed the finish line first by a large margin. We probably don’t need much of an introduction. Popular hits such as ‘Berlin du stinkst’, ‘Monotonie’ and of course the title alone, ‘Zu wahr, um schön zu sein’, speak for themselves. Having shrunk to a trio, we are curious to see how they will now bring their trademark sound to the stage.
In the finest Wedding dot tradition, it will definitely be loud, scratchy and good-humoured with catchy melodies. [...]

24. July 2024Contact Zone
The 1st cut is the deepest. We have the first promotional image for this year’s Rössel-Time in the can. Contact Zone from the Würstchenwald area will be on stage on Saturday. The young band(s) are not only very popular in the local Parkclub.
In our opinion, Contact Zone are a real force to be reckoned with. [...]

23. July 2024Dieter Platte
If the rest of you can’t hold a spoon any longer, scrape the remaining lard out of your fontanelles in the time between the last festival beer and the first jam roll on the Dieter platter. It doesn’t matter what else rattles.
He is not averse to noise, his hard techno is somewhat hypnotic, there are kicks and tempo. Just right for the finale. [...]

15. July 2024FRIEDEMANN
My musical excursions have taken me all over the German-speaking world and to Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, France, Denmark and Cuba. Always on the lookout, always on a journey to places where like-minded people, music lovers and do-gooders are at home. I have been on the road with my solo program for a few years now. From the outside, I do classic singer-songwriter stuff. Some would say German-language storyteller music. That’s probably the truth.
Me, my guitar, a few sound gimmicks, a little rhythm and lots of weird ideas. I tell stories about my life and the lives of the many people I have met and accompanied. I sing about different paths to happiness, about getting lost in the dark, about resurrection and passing away. Of the cycle of being.
Not always wise and thoughtful, always without claiming to be omniscient and the navel of the world, sometimes polemical and rough, garnished with humor and a laugh at myself and ready to enter into an exciting and relaxed exchange of ideas with my listeners. [...]

5. July 2024WITCHRITE
Speed is not witchcraft, but simply a matter of practice and experience.
At least with this combo, which has been travelling with the same line-up since 2007.
While other guitarists are desperately searching for the eighth fret in thrash metal or high-speed punk, their colleague from Gorzów Wielkopolski has the leisure to shake his head while his left hand slides unerringly over the neck of the instrument. The bass is plucked accurately and not simply beaten with the plectrum. Despite the TGV tempo, there is a relaxed nonchalance on the drums that is more reminiscent of a swing concert in the spa gardens. And the vocals? It’s hard to believe that this range (from growling to bloodcurdling screams) comes from one and the same larynx. This will be a concert that fits the Rössel like a glove.

24. June 2024WIGHT
Radio stations that promise the mega hits from the blah blah blah and the best of today, I’m off very quickly. From Wight, who once started out in doom metal with sinister, darkly glowing melancholy, there are pig organ sounds from the 60s, the fattest guitar riffs from the 70s and a pinch of stoner rock from the present day and it would be a big mistake not to stop, listen and be amazed. In addition, there are synth plumes that even Pete Townshend couldn’t have pulled off better, grooves that scream for the dance floor and funky basslines that go straight to the underbelly. With great joy of playing and just as much skill, an irresistible, decidedly festival-ready concoction is presented here.
Play tips from the editorial team are “St.Tropez” (because of the riffs), “Hot” (groove and great bass) and “Bon Apocalypso” (because of the title and as proof that vocals are not always necessary).
Dress code: rough shoes, tie-dye shirt, elegant jacket with glittering lapels. [...]

23. June 2024NIESAMOWITA SPRAWA
Niesamowita Sprawa began a few years ago as a spontaneous street duo in Poznan, performing Iskra’s original songs at markets and promenades. The unexpected success with random passers-by quickly led to performances in pubs and local festivals. Motivated by this response, the line-up gradually developed into a quintet with double bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin and drums. Their live performances are a shared experience where the audience shapes the concert. [...]

23. June 2024VOODOO PUPPETS OF HELL AND DOOM
The repetitiveness of krautrock, without the weirdness, but with the deeper riffs of stoner rock and the hooks of hard rock. On top of that, there are instrumental passages that sometimes push the songs over the 8-minute mark. This correlates well with the name of the combo, which is definitely one of the top 3 in the “length” category that have played concerts here. The quartet from Leipzig, who have been playing together for a good four years, have collected more reference points than an average record collection usually has to offer. This will be exciting. [...]

23. June 2024ZIMNA WOJNA
The illegitimate children of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and Mickey Mouse (self-disclosure, not checked by the editors) play wonderful seventies punk and, with unconcealed joy and delight, leave out neither jokes nor clichés. The artist names complete the picture. Occasionally, a melodic lead guitar sneaks in, which sometimes starts an undistorted solo. However, it is quickly fenced in again by the next thunderous chorus. A nice HEY! HO! reminiscence is of course a must. Look forward to a danceable overall package, always above the resting pulse, which leaves the audience awake and happy. [...]

23. June 2024PINK WONDER
In contrast to the speed, the brevity of the songs and the anarchy on stage, the Ramones made prog rock. Other distinguishing features: there are only three of them, the vocals alternate between bass and guitar as required. Partly with roots in the Oderbruch region. Puke punk with regional aspirations and a guarantee of origin. [...]

23. June 2024TV MOMS
Bass-driven riffs, a drum kit whose ride never has a moment’s peace. The tried and tested “loud-quiet scheme” is often neglected in favor of “louder-louder”. If you now have a ghostly “here we are now, entertain us” wafting through your head, you’re not far wrong. It’s grungetime, with sprinklings of related punk and post-punk subgenres. Since 2016, they have released a longplayer every three years, so we are hoping to be presented with new material. Mostly on the road in a traditional but changeable trio line-up, the combo from Brooklyn, New York has played pretty much everywhere. Reminiscent of the better days of my youth. Consequently, they also have cassettes on offer. [...]

22. June 2024DORFATZEN
From the east of Berlin. Whether there are biographical references to individual members in the name is unfortunately not known. They play Berlin corner pub punk rock in the bad-tempered version, often with equally bad-tempered vocals. The keyboard is untypical of the genre, sometimes contributing sympathetic embellishments in the form of individual dabs, but also serving as a melody carrier and guitar solo substitute with flat sounds. In the choruses, often with a fat guitar and cozy dark choirs, we have a real punk wonder bag as a guest.
In any case! [...]
